How Do I Prepare For My Tattoo Session?

I highly recommend feeling as physically good as possible for your appointment. What does this mean?

*Come well rested

*Please don’t be hungover or sick.

*Be sure to eat a hearty meal before your appointment

* Feel free to bring snacks/drinks.

*Be comfortable! Wear clothes you are OK with getting ink on, it’s ok to bring a blanket/slippers. Wear clothing that easily exposes the area you are getting tattooed.

*Please pre-shave the area you plan on getting tattooed. I have razors to do this for you but its always best if you use a razor you like/ shaving products etc.

*I know you might be nervous or anxious for the appointment but PLEASE refrain from any drug or alcohol use until after the tattoo

How Do I Care For My Tattoo?

*The tattoo will be bandaged immediately following the procedure. This bandage is to be left on as long as over night or as short as a few hours. I will talk with you at the appointment about how long you should wear it. This is the only time the tattoo is bandaged. Do no re-bandage.

*When it is time for the bandage to come off, wash the tattoo thoroughly with warm water and non-scented soap. Be sure to remove any ointment or blood residue from the area. Wash the tattoo 2 times a day for the first week.

*ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE TOUCHING THE TATTOO

*Once it it cleaned DO NOT put any ointment on for 24 hours. Give the tattoo time to breathe.

*Showers are 100% OK but any submerging of the tattoo is NOT! This means no baths, no hot spring, no swimming etc.

*I recommend applying aquaphor to the tattoo one time a day. I recommend using the smallest amount that can be rubbed completely into the skin. You do not want to over lotion your tattoo this can lead to unsatisfactory healed results.

*It is normal for the tattoo is significantly swell. If you are experiencing a lot of swelling it is ok to take ibuprofen and ice the area.

*It is normal for the tattoo to develop scabs or become flaky. If this happens DO NOT pick the scabs or scratch at the tattoo. You can pull pigment out by doing this.

*It is normal for the tattoo is to be very itchy while it heals. It can be difficult but please DO NOT SCRATCH it! If it becomes overwhelming slap that tat.

  • I always love seeing how your tattoo heals. Once its a month healed hit me up to stop by so I can see how it healed and assess if it needs a touch up or not.
